Dimitri Chris (for Modasuite) reinvents the ‘Classic White Shirt’

Gents, remember our 2011 style trend prediction that designers (and humanity in general) will be yearning for and looking to past inspiration in order to move forward?
Well, Modasuite – the quirky retail brand and innovative fashion movement – have certainly taken a few steps back to propel your wardrobe ahead of the game, by commissioning up-and-coming designer Dimitri Chris to design a capsule collection that’s future fantastic.
Taking inspiration from the 1930s, Dimitri Chris has taken the most important piece in a man’s wardrobe, the white shirt, and veers it in a less serious and yet sophisticated direction.
With patch pockets, contrast sleeves, and minimalist attention to detail, the collection is light years ahead yet vintage, versatile and practical yet quintessential to any spring and summer wardrobe.

Paris Fashion Week says ‘Loosen up man’!

Time and time again while covering the men’s components of Milan and Paris fashion weeks we touched on it: that dominant, relaxed aesthetic that men who are tired of the crotch hugging, thigh squishing feel of the overt skinny cut have to look forwards to amongst autumn / fall 2011 fashions. And beyond. Men’s fashion simply doesn’t move so fast that one can peg these forthcoming emergence of relaxed tailoring to a sole season, nor even a year, and while we already know we’ll see it amongst spring 2012′s fashions it’s highly likely that we’ll also see this interpretation of men’s fashion feature amongst throughout all of 2012.

relaxed fit for men is, of course, nothing new and we’ve spoken on it before and given a physiological understanding of why it’s still a chosen look as well as a fashionable look. Loose layering, drop crotches and baggy jeans have been with us for some time now. But a line has to be drawn in the sand. The relaxed cuts of past years are distinctly different from the relaxed tailoring we’re about the encounter. One could rightly argue that this new men’s trend evolves from the old, but they are certainly not one in the same.

While the seamless shoulder is one of the hallmarks of the relaxed men’s tailoring trend, the deep shoulder seam / dropped shoulder works equally as well. Sitting somewhere between the sack shoulder and a seamless shoulder, the deep shoulder seam features a stitch line that sits off of the shoulder, with the overall appearance given that the jacket or coat’s shoulder is oversized. Sometimes the effect is subtle, as is the case with the double breasted Ermanno Scervino overcoat, at other times the seam sits much closer to the bicep, as is the case with the half sleeved sweater / jumper from Raf Simons.

Dsquared² Fall 2011 Collection

Leather pants, wing-tip boots, plaid shirts, denim, tight-cut suit coats in black. The Canadian designers Dean and Dan Caten brave the cold in their latest collection based on the rough and ready life of early American settlers. The twins behind the DSquared label brought up the curtain on their own winter menswear show Tuesday to reveal a snow-laden hut immersed in the mountains. The collection of reassembled work wear was built around the apron, which in fashion terms becomes a vest. Heavy leather belts, suspenders and pioneer hats accessorized the look. Jeans, low slung and in wool denim are a winter must.

Lanvin Fall 2011 Collection

If there were something which other fashion designers might learn from the house of Lanvin, it would be in which not anything keeps a roomful of jaded show-goers pleased as if warm espresso and nice treats. This seems easy, however just a little goes a very long way.
Easy luxury is at the heart of a Lanvin collection - a cashmere turtleneck poking out from beneath a shirt collar, or a flowing silk suit - but there was something buttoned up, almost stern, in a knee-length coat tied tightly at the waist with rope, or a suit jacket fastened just that bit too snug.

Men Casual Wear in this summer

It is a fact that is no longer necessary to use a coat and tie to be smart. There are many options and combination, accompanied by appropriate accessories that you can take and still be stylish.

There is an expression in English, literally "business casual" can be translated to Spanish saying something like "executive but casual." But it's worth being clear on what fits the style parameters, to avoid errors and above all to preserve the taste.

Timeless Guide for This Summer

Transition from winter to summer is always unique and many people just love it. Many reasons exist generating such preferences and the most important among them is the changing from the heavy cladding woolen garments to something lighter and softer. It can give the user a rare feeling of freedom and at the same time could make a different style statement altogether.

There are leather low-tops trainers from sportswear companies such as Puma, and is you check out the range of shoes in leather or suede online which are designed by the top fashion houses, you will see what there is on offer. If you can’t afford their prices then at least you will have an idea of what is fashionable and be able to look for cheaper deals on your high street or in your shopping mall.

Fusing modern British style with luxurious Italian craftsmanship, Jimmy Choo's Autumn Winter 2011 Men's footwear collection has a mod aesthetic with a hint of a 1960s Mayfair playboy. The understated tones of black and brown are highlighted with rich colors and texture: cognac, oxblood and hints of ochre, turquoise and port.

The collection also features a Bond-inspired velvet jacquard of paisley, featuring hidden burlesque silhouettes. Men’s hoody trends for 2011

Men's hoody is one trend that never seems to go out of fashion; it may evolve slightly over the seasons but still always appears as a staple item in almost every guy’s wardrobe.
Men’s hoodies are the perfect piece for layering over other items when it starts to get a little colder, especially when they offer both comfort and style.

There are an assortment of styles of hoody available, many come in a variety of colours, some come with zips and others come with pockets.

Men’s hoodies really took off in the 70’s, which was when the hip-hop culture first appeared on the scene. High-end designers embraced the hoody and glamourised the garment in order to attract a wider audience. The hoody is no longer something that is simply worn to the gym or pulled over a tee when the weather gets a little colder; it’s now an item that can be worn on a night out or to a lunch date.

Men’s Fashion Trends for 2012

We know this is too early, but the catwalks are already seeing 2012 lines spilling over on to them and there is no better time than now to get your head around what will be big in style next year. Once the summer is over, you should start to remodel your wardrobe, ready for the winter and ready for the New Year ahead.

Here are our favourite and most wearable trends that you can expect to see in 2012.

Colours – the colours you will be seeing next year will without a doubt be bright, think turquoise, orange and pink. Just a sprinkle of these colours or a whole outfit will work equally well; don’t be afraid to dabble with colour, the brighter the better.
